These Wooden Shelves I made for my daughters porcelain Dolls. I wanted something sturdy and nice to look at. I did contemplate on painting it but decided to keep the bare so that the poplar is visible. The joint that keeps them together is simple Bud joints and 3 counter sink screws. I did consider the pocket holes but these counter sink screws work just fine, they are facing the wall anyhow. The rack it self is mounted in the wall with screws, one goes into a stud and on in the drywall with a plug. The second one is some support but more of a leveling screw.
I just finish it with a teak oil and only one coat at that. The plugs that cover the screw holes is walnut and gives it some character. It not glued in but just hand pressed.
All and all it does not look to bad for my first attempted at Wooden Shelves.
