I have this old crate that my Laguna jointer planer was shipped in, I was using it as a temporary work service and storage inside the crate. It just cheap chipboard so a lot of wood fibers that stick out and scratched the items I’m working on. I decided that this has to end and since Im going to use this for a while, the idea popped in to my mind to epoxy it. I Got a box of Super Glaze – Pour On Finish & Preservative from a friend about a year ago and it has expired — I think. The desk was sanded to a smooth surface with 80 grid sandpaper. After the epoxy dried I sanded it with 220 grid to make sure the are no sharp edges. The service look very good after a bout of Renaissance wax.
I’ll have to see how it holds up.
