This Scrap Wood End Grain Cutting Board was made to clear out my scrap bucket. I always keep my little cutoff and small pieces for small turning projects. Every now and then I make a small cutting boards from the scraps. This one is made from Honey Locust ,Maple and Rhodesian Teak. It me sure 9-11 inches and is just over 1 inch thick. The assumption is that end grain cutting boards is better for your knifes since you are cutting into the fibers. You can get very creative with end grain cutting boards and come up with some artistic patterns.
The cutting board I use daily is an end grain cutting boards and it hold up well. It doest like to be socked with water and it get a coat of mineral oil when needed every few months.
