Recycled wood, or wood you have left over from other projects, can be used for some great projects. I recently just finished a project and had a lot of pine board left over. So I decided to make a storage box for my kids, so they can store their scooters. I will be using the Rocker 3/8″ Dowel Drilling Jig Kit. This will be my second time using the Rocker Jig Kit and I am quite impressed with it. Here is how I created a recycled pine wood storage box for storage using the Rocker Jig Kit.
The Dowel holes is clean and the dowels fits in to the holes very well.
The glue up was fairly simple. I always dry fit my part before I get the glue out. This makes sure I don’t get any surprises.
Once it was dry I sanded the box and the lid. I use some stain to seal it and as some color. I like wood in the raw finish form.
I know your poly and varnishes provides better protection but I’m not a big fan of the shine.
I installed a simple piano hinge for the lid and called it good.
Using recycled wood is great for projects especially when you have enough to make a storage box like this.
