My new table Laguna table saw has arrived and I am very excited . It arrived on a pallet in a few separate components. The Laguna Table Saw Assembly was very challenging. I started with the two cast iron wings or leaves. Then I installed the fence rials front and back for the fence. Once all these parts was installed I could align the table to the blade . I did this by loosening 3 out of the 4 bolt allowing the unit to pivot on the remaining bolt.
After the table alignment I could align the fence to the blade. Fortunately the fence was fairly simple to align with its multiple adjustment screws. The blade was already pre-installed and all that was need was to hook the electronics up. the Start and stop button is located ideally so you can use your knee to stop it when you are done ripping.
This machine is a beauty and I can be happier with it. I took for ever to decide between all the different brands (Laguna, Powermatic and Grisly ). After week of research and reading thousand’s of blogs and comments I have selected the Laguna. Assembling a big cast iron machines like this is definitely a two-man job. I saw a podcast on the Wood Whisperer that demonstrated the cleaning and preparation of a cast iron table. The 3 main ingredients is BOESHIELD, Renaissance wax and a lot of elbow grease, man inst it pretty when you done.I listed the links for all the stuff mentioned today
